Don’t miss a visit to all the amazing Magic of Christmas events taking place at Colchester Zoo this year. Santa’s Enchanted Christmas Grotto is one of the finest Christmas grottos in the south of England and every paying child will get the chance to meet Santa between 9.30 and 16.00 each day and receive a present from him.

The Magic of Christmas Timetable:
9.30 - 16.00 – Santa’s Enchanted Christmas Grotto - Fantasy Land
On the 27th and 28th November, Santa’s wife will be giving him a hand as he meets all the children. So for any youngsters who find the thought of visiting Father Christmas just a little bit scary there’s the chance this weekend only to meet Mother Christmas instead!
11.00 Mini Pantomime- Enjoy the now famous staff pantomime! This year it will be Goldilocks and the Three Bears - Kalahari Theatre
13.00- Santa’s Arrival - Displays arena
14.00- Elf Tales- Kalahari Theatre (20mins) Tall tales about Christmas from Santa’s little helpers. (On 4th December this will be replaced by the Sing and Sign with Santa event.
14.30- Animal crackers- Wild about Animals Theatre (20mins) The animals are just crackers about Christmas-join them as they prepare to celebrate in their own unique way!
11.30 & 15.00- The elves tend Santa’s reindeer - Familiar Friends Join the elves as they tend Santa’s reindeer in their Christmas holiday home
15.30- Mini-Pantomime - Goldilocks and the Three Bears - Kalahari Theatre |

Starlight Late Night Opening - Saturday 23rd December
Enjoy all the festive fun for longer on this special late night opening event until 9pm. There’s additional late night feeds with the animals and the chance to see the beautiful illuminations around the zoo.
16.00-20.30- Magical Christmas Road Train- Tanganyika Road Train
16.30- Sealion scatter feed -Playa Patagonia
17.00-Tiger crackers - Tiger Taiga
17.30- Animal crackers- Wild about Animals Theatre
18.00- Chimps Christmas- Chimp World
18.30- Late night leopard feed-Ussuri Falls
19.00- A Festive farewell - Displays Arena Join a whole host of Santa’s friends to wish him a safe journey on his travels - Displays Arena
19.30-Orangutan present giving - Orangutan Forest
20.00- Goldilocks and the Three Bears - Beyond the water shed- Kalahari theatre A late night, tongue-in-cheek performance not for the faint hearted. Truly a no holds “beared” pantomime
Please note that viewing of animals is restricted after dark. The zoo is open on late nights for the additional activities which are provided by zoo staff. Visitors are recommended to bring a torch to help them navigate the zoo grounds. |

Saturday 4th December - Special Senses Santa Day
An inclusive event aimed at providing the festive spirit for all!
Santa signs! Santa has been working hard all year to learn sign language so that he can talk to every boy and girl that comes to see him on this special day! Catch him handing out presents in the grotto or arriving in the displays arena with his reindeer!
Special events will be interpreted for the hearing impaired and special handling sessions available for visually impaired guests.
• Signing Santa- at the Enchanted Christmas Grotto 9.30-16.00 - Signing available for any children with auditory impairments wanting to meet Santa to receive a present.
• Signing Santa’s arrival - Displays Arena 13.00
• Small animal handling for the visually impaired 12pm- ice-cream parlour- meet a variety of the cuddlier zoo animals in this close contact handling sessions for the visually impaired
• Sing & sign with Santa-2pm instead of Elf Tales-Kalahari Theatre. Join in as Santa sings & signs his favourite Christmas carols!
Please note all the other Magic of Christmas events will be taking place on this day except Sing and Sign with Santa replaces the Elf Tales. |

Breakfast with Santa Experience at Colchester Zoo
Sunday 28th Nov, Saturday 4th, Sunday 5th, Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th December, 2010.
An unforgettable experience for any child – the chance to come along and meet Santa and his reindeer and enjoy a delicious breakfast with him and his elves. Come along and help Santa to feed his reindeer before sitting down for your own breakfast with Santa Claus! He will, of course, have a special present for every child and there will be plenty of opportunity for taking photographs. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the Magic of Christmas events at Colchester Zoo.
Please note that if you wish a child to receive a second present at Santa’s Enchanted Grotto and you do not have a zoo pass, a ticket will need to be purchased for £5.00 to cover the cost of the present.

This event must be pre-booked. Your experience includes access to Colchester Zoo for the whole day, your breakfast and a present from Santa. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are £22.50 for Children 3 to 13, £17.50 for Under 3s and Junior Pass holders and £20.00 for accompanying adults which includes entrance to the zoo for the whole day and a hot bacon roll (£5.00 for adult pass holders which includes hot bacon roll).

Terms and Conditions of visiting the Magic of Christmas events at Colchester Zoo
Please ensure you read before your visit:
All Magic of Christmas events including Santa’s Enchanted Grotto is situated within the Zoo and normal admission must be paid to visit it. A child receives a complimentary present from Santa ONLY when full child admission has been paid. Tesco Deals vouchers may be used to visit on Magic of Christmas days but as a free present is only available to full paying children there will be a charge of £5.00 to cover this cost which cannot be paid for in deals vouchers. Complimentary ticket holders, non paying children including Under 3s and children attending birthday parties can visit the Enchanted Grotto and see Santa but are not entitled to receive a free present. Tickets can be purchased at Guest Service or as you enter Colchester Zoo for £5.00. Presents are only available on Magic of Christmas event days. Broken, lost or unwanted toys cannot be exchanged. Some toys may require batteries; Colchester Zoo is not liable for such costs. Additional terms and conditions applicable to Gold and Platinum Pass holders only
A valid Pass must be presented to qualify otherwise admission will be charged which is not refundable. Junior Gold Pass holders may have one visit to Santa to receive a free present during the validity of pass; Platinum pass holders may have two. Further visits can be made at a cost of £5.00. The child’s pass will be punched once their free present has been received. Out of date passes are invalid so do not qualify a child to receive a free present. An Adult Pass does not qualify for a free present. The management reserves the right to refuse entry to a pass holder even if the card is valid. Junior pass holders must visit Santa’s Enchanted Grotto to receive their present.
